Russia develops domestic equipment for transmitting satellite data to Earth

The new equipment is unrivaled in Russia and has been created using solely domestic electronic components, the Company stressed

MOSCOW, February 17. /TASS/. The Russian Space Systems Company (part of the space agency Roscosmos) has developed onboard receivers and transmitters for transmitting data from satellites to Earth, the Company said in a statement on Wednesday.

"Specialists of the Russian Space Systems Holding Company have developed and launched into production new onboard receivers and transmitters for future space vehicles for the reliable exchange of ‘satellite-Earth’ data," the statement says.

The new equipment is unrivaled in Russia and has been created using solely domestic electronic components, the Company stressed.

"The system is expected to be used in creating future broadband communications and Earth’s remote sensing satellites," the statement specified.

In particular, the new equipment will allow transmitting pictures, radar images and other large amounts of information, the Company said.
