Russia’s media watchdog blocks websites of ex-lawmaker-turned-blogger, and Germany’s Bild

On March 22, Russia’s Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against Nevzorov for disseminating false information about the activities of the Russian armed forces

MOSCOW, March 27. /TASS/. Russia’s mass media and telecommunications watchdog has blocked access to the websites of journalist Alexander Nevzorov and Germany’s Bild.

According to the watchdog, access to nevzorov.tv and bild.de was blocked at the request of the Russian prosecutor general’s office of March 26 on charges of posting calls for mass disorders, extremism and participation in unauthorized rallies.

On March 22, Russia’s Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against Nevzorov for disseminating false information about the activities of the Russian armed forces. According to investigators, the journalist posted on his accounts in social network deliberately false information about the shelling of a maternity home in Mariupol by Russian troops and attached false photos originating from the Ukrainian mass media.
