MOSCOW, November 7. /TASS/. Ukraine, backed by the European Union, continues to attack Russia’s critical energy infrastructure, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin told TASS in an interview.
"The Kiev regime, backed by EU bureaucrats, continues to attack critical energy infrastructure, which is another destructive factor. Notably, they are hurting themselves in the process. By turning economic weapons against their strategic competitors in the hope of preserving its dominance, the European Union has in fact shot itself in the foot," he said.
According to Pankin, "global turbulence in the energy sector is affecting everyone, particularly energy-deficit regions like Europe."
"Long-term stability requires abandoning unfair competition and zero-sum games. Together with our like-minded countries, we have consistently promoted this idea within the Group of 20," the senior diplomat noted.
