MOSCOW, February 13. /TASS/. Russia strongly condemns the barbaric terrorist attack in Afghanistan's Kunduz aimed at escalating the situation in the northern regions of the country, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
"Russia strongly condemns the barbaric terrorist attack carried out by an extremist suicide bomber at the entrance to a bank in Kunduz on February 11. The action, the responsibility for which was claimed by The Islamic State - Khorasan Province terrorist organization, Afghanistan’s branch of ISIS (also known as IS, banned in Russia - TASS), resulted in more than 25 deaths. Dozens of people were injured. The terror unleashed by the Islamic State and its sponsors is aimed at escalating the internal political situation in the previously calm northern regions of Afghanistan," the ministry said.
The Russian side expresses deep condolences to the families of the victims and wishes the injured a speedy recovery, the Russian diplomats said. "Moscow is confident that the Afghan authorities will be able to find the organizers of the terrorist attack in Kunduz and bring them to justice," the ministry added.
