Russia remains among Tajikistan’s key trade and economic partners — envoy

The document stipulates expansion of cooperation in such areas as trade, industry, agriculture, transport, and logistics, as well as fuel and energy, financial and digital sectors of the economy, Grigoryev added

DUSHANBE, February 10. /TASS/. Russia remains one of Tajikistan’s key trade and economic partners, with the volume of trade turnover between the two countries having reached almost $2 bln in 2024, Russian Ambassador to Dushanbe Semyon Grigoryev said in an interview with TASS.

"Russia remains one of Tajikistan’s key trade and economic partners as it holds an important place in the country’s export and import," he said, adding that trade turnover between the two countries has been demonstrating stable growth as it totaled almost $2 bln in 2024, which is 15.6% higher than in 2023.

That said, the diplomat believes that the program for economic cooperation between the governments of Russia and Tajikistan for 2024-2027 signed in Dushanbe last year will give a renewed impetus to trade. "Its implementation is expected to allow a 2.5-fold increase in our trade turnover by 2030," he noted.
