UAE’s accession to BRICS to strengthen coordination with Russia on global problems

MOSCOW, November 15. /TASS/. The United Arab Emirates’ membership in BRICS will strengthen cooperation with Russia on the resolution of global problems, the Russian foreign ministry said after Minister Sergey Lavrov’s visit to the UAE and his talks with UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

"The ministers expressed confidence that the UAE’s accession to BRICS as a full-fledged member will strengthen the political, economic, scientific-and-technical, and human potential of this association, will create additional opportunities for coordination on pressing global problems, as well as for bilateral cooperation, including with due account of Russia’s presidency of BRICS in 2024," the ministry said.
