Secretaries of the Security Councils of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) have called on Kabul to fulfill its obligations in combating international terrorist organizations, including those based in Afghanistan posing a serious threat to SCO countries, the Russian Security Council's press service reported.

Afghanistan was also on the agenda at the meeting. "The heads of delegations called on the de facto authorities of Afghanistan to consistently fulfill their obligations in the field of counterterrorism, especially in preventing the activities of international terrorist organizations and other groups based on Afghan soil that pose a serious threat to the SCO space," the statement said.

At the meeting the Russian delegation was led by Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev.
