BRICS’ doors open for Argentina, Russian diplomat says

According to Maria Zakharova, BRICS membership brings obvious advantages to the countries

SIRIUS /Federal Territory/, March 6. /TASS/. The doors of BRICS remain open for Argentina, everything depends on the country’s authorities, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

"The question is to what extent the Argentinian leadership will reflect the will of the Argentinian people, and we (BRICS - TASS) are not closing our doors," the diplomat said at a Russian Znanie (Knowledge) society session on the sidelines of the World Youth Festival.

According to Zakharova, BRICS membership brings obvious advantages to the countries. "There is not a single disadvantage, there are no costs. These are important decisions that are developed on the basis of mutual respect, consideration of interests, equality and bring positive results for each country," she pointed out.

The World Youth Festival is taking place in the Sirius Federal Territory in far southern Russia on March 1-7, 2024. More than 300,000 people from 190 countries have applied to take part. Participants in the festival’s regional program will visit 30 Russian cities on March 10-17. TASS is the event’s general information partner.
