Rosatom CEO, IAEA chief agree to continue working communication

The sides discussed nuclear and physical safety at Europe’s largest nuclear power plant, the Zaporozhye NPP, as well as Russia’s efforts to develop Energodar’s social sphere and normalize life in the city

MOSCOW, September 25. /TASS/. CEO of Russia’s Rosatom state nuclear corporation Alexey Likhachev and Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi have agreed to continue communication as part of their working relationship, Rosatom press service said on Monday.

"Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev met with IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi on the sidelines of the 67th IAEA General Conference. <…> The sides agreed to continue maintaining regular working contacts," it said.

The sides discussed nuclear and physical safety at Europe’s largest nuclear power plant, the Zaporozhye NPP and Likhachev vowed that the Russian side would continue to create conditions to ensure the IAEA’s presence at the plant. He also told the IAEA chief about Russia’s efforts to develop Energodar’s social sphere and normalize life in the city.

The Russian delegation also included Permanent Representative to the Vienna-based international organizations Mikhail Ulyanov and chief of Russia's nuclear and environmental watchdog Alexander Trembitsky.
