Russian deputy minister, PRC ambassador, discuss need to investigate Nord Stream blasts

In addition, the mutual determination to develop close coordination between Moscow and Beijing on multilateral issues was reaffirmed

MOSCOW, February 17. /TASS/. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin has held phone talks with Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui to discuss the need to investigate the explosions at the Nord Stream pipelines and bring those responsible to justice, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on its website on Friday.

"Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Vershinin held phone talks with Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui on February 17. <...> Separately, the issue of the need to investigate the explosions at the Nord Stream pipeline on September 26, 2022 and hold to account those responsible was discussed," the ministry said.

The ministry also said the sides had discussed the pressing issues of bilateral cooperation "on the UN platform in New York and Geneva with a focus on the agenda of its Security Council and the Human Rights Council." In addition, the mutual determination to develop close coordination between Moscow and Beijing on multilateral issues was reaffirmed.
