Kiev forces bombard DPR with over 300 rockets, artillery shells in past day — official

As a result of Ukrainian shelling, a civilian was killed and five more were wounded in the republic

DONETSK, June 1. /TASS/. Ukraine’s Armed Forces have fired more than 300 shells and rockets in the past 24 hours, using multiple rocket launchers and heavy artillery guns, Eduard Basurin, a deputy chief of the militia of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), said on Wednesday.

"In the past 24 hours, the adversary fired more than 300 shells and mortars using the Uragan and Grad multiple rocket launchers, 152mm and 122mm barrel artillery, as well as 120mm mortars," the Telegram channel of the DPR People’s Militia says.

Eleven populated localities in the DPR came under shelling by the Ukrainian armed forces in the past 24 hours. As a result of Ukrainian shelling, a civilian was killed and five more were wounded in the republic.

According to Basurin, three DPR soldiers fell fighting Ukrainian troops during the day. The shelling by the Ukrainian armed forces damaged 27 residential buildings, five vehicles and eight civilian facilities in the past day.

Ukrainian forces lost up to 50 troops in battles with the DPR People’s Militia over the past 24 hours.

"Our servicemen have eliminated a T-64 tank, two infantry fighting vehicles, and up to 50 manpower. Three enemy firing positons near Novomikhailovka were suppressed with powerful fire. The enemy retreated, suffering significant losses," the post says.
