MOSCOW, February 10. /TASS/. Russia’s Foreign Ministry significantly contributes to ensuring international peace and resolving pressing regional and global issues, President Vladimir Putin said in a message on Diplomats’ Day, which has been published on the Kremlin website on Wednesday.
"The Russian foreign policy service has the right to be proud of its rich history. Building on the glorious traditions established by their predecessors, Russian diplomats remain on the frontline of efforts to protect national interests, making a significant contribution to ensuring international peace and resolving pressing regional and global issues," Putin pointed out.
According to him, the active and consistent efforts of the Russian Foreign Ministry, "have made it possible to stabilize the situation in a number of trouble spots and boost constructive cooperation with most of our foreign partners, namely including members of the Eurasian Economic Union, the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the BRICS group (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa)."
Putin highlighted the effective work of the Foreign Ministry and its agencies aimed at providing assistance to Russian nationals stuck overseas amid the coronavirus pandemic.
