MOSCOW, November 5. /TASS/. Russia’s Sistema investment holding plans to expand its investment portfolio and is readying an investment program spanning several regions of the world, Vice President Ivan Makushok told TASS.
"We are currently looking at a map of opportunities across three scales: Russian, Eurasian, and global. Those are not three separate routes, but rather three directions united by a common logic: identifying points where the capabilities of the companies in our portfolio are in demand by specific regions and potential co-investors," he said.
Sistema has already made investments in Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand through its subsidiaries, and is now exploring opportunities in African countries, including Tanzania and the Congo, Makushok said, adding that in the Eurasian region, Belarus is one of its key priorities.
In Russia, projects are focused on the potential of specific regions, he noted. For instance, Sistema is interested in the Altai region, as well as the Far East, where there is potential for tourism and wellness projects in Kamchatka.
"Our domestic geography is not merely an attachment to external agendas. Each region possesses its own economy of opportunity <...>. We will align investments with the long-term needs of the territory and the strategic goals of the nation," the vice president explained.
