Rosatom in talks with more than 40 African nations — CEO

Alexey Likhachev added that Rosatom will start implementing five more small and large capacity nuclear power plant projects shortly

MOSCOW, October 28. /TASS/. Rosatom is holding proactive negotiations with more than forty African countries in different areas of cooperation, CEO Alexey Likhachev said.

"If speaking exactly about presence of legal relations, then 29 countries. We have legally significant obligations in 29 countries out of 54 African sovereigns. The figure can be boldly increased to 40-42, where we have the active stage of talks. Interests are different, starting from exploration and production on deposits, uranium, rare-earth, and Centers of nuclear science and technologies. And nuclear power plants, certainly," he told reporters at the Russia-Africa summit.

Rosatom will start implementing five more small and large capacity nuclear power plant projects shortly, the chief executive added.
