TOKYO, October 7. /TASS/. Artificial intelligence (AI) could lead to mass job losses, and its advanced models risk "to escape human control" and becoming unmanageable, International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva warned.
"We will learn as we go, but we know AI preparedness is key, including digital infrastructure, labor market readiness, and regulatory guardrails. This will help capture the benefits and manage AI’s substantial perils: large-scale labor market fallout, serious cyber and stability risks, and frontier models threatening to escape human control and run amok," Georgieva said.
She was speaking in Singapore ahead of the IMF and World Bank Autumn Meetings, scheduled for next week in Thailand.
