MOSCOW, May 15. /TASS/. Annual inflation in Russia in April 2026 was 5.58%, compared to 5.86% in March, consumer prices increased by 0.14% month-on-month, according to data from the Federal Statistics Service (Rosstat).
In April, food prices decreased by 0.2% month-on-month and increased by 4.02% year-on-year. Non-food prices increased by 0.26% month-on-month and by 3.88% year-on-year. Services increased in price by 0.47% compared to March and by 9.9% year-on-year.
In April, prices decreased for bell peppers (-17.6%), cucumbers (-14.7%), oranges (-5.4%), garlic (-3.4%), tomatoes (-3.1%), pears (-2.9%), bananas (-2.4%), and lemons (-2.3%). Prices increased for cabbage (+4.6%), beets, and carrots (+3.3%).
Among meat products, prices increased for beef and pork liver (+1.2%), beef, canned baby food (+1%), lamb and turkey (+0.7%), and pork and chicken legs (+0.5%). Prices decreased for dry-cured sausages (-0.9%), frankfurters, small sausages, pelmeni, manti, and ravioli (-0.5%), semi-smoked and cooked-smoked sausages (-0.4%), and smoked and cooked sausages (-0.3%).
Of fish and seafood products, prices increased for frozen whole fish and frozen squid (+1.5%), frozen gutted fish (except salmon) (+1.2%), salted and smoked delicacy fish products (+0.6%), live and chilled fish, and fish fillets (+0.5%). Prices decreased for herring fillets (-0.5%) and frozen shrimp (-0.3%).
Among bread and bakery products, cereals, and legumes, prices increased for buckwheat (+1.1%), pasta (+0.6%), millet (+0.5%), and wheat bread (+0.4%). Prices for wheat flour, peas, and beans decreased (-0.4%).
Prices also grew for granulated sugar (+2.9%), beer (+1.8%), carbonated beverages (+1.3%), honey (+1%).
Prices increased for compressed natural gas (+1.2%), gas motor fuel and motor gasoline (+0.6%), and diesel fuel (+0.5%).
