Russia’s oil industry ready for seasonal growth in fuel demand — Energy Ministry

The minisry highlighted that there had been no disruptions in regional supply

MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. Russia’s oil industry is fully prepared for the period of seasonal growth in fuel demand. The Russian Ministry of Energy told reporters.

"Currently, the domestic market has sufficient reserves of light petroleum products. There have been no disruptions in regional supply, and the industry is fully prepared for the period of seasonal growth in demand," the ministry said.

The Energy Ministry noted that this became possible partly thanks to measures taken by the Russian government. In particular, they have decided to impose a temporary ban on the export of motor gasoline in order to stabilize prices and ensure priority supply to the domestic market. The corresponding decree came into effect on April 2, 2026.

In addition to that, temporary ban on diesel fuel exports for non-producers remains in effect, the ministry added.

"The Energy Ministry continues to interact with the regions on a daily basis and is systematically working to ensure stable supplies of motor fuel to consumers," the ministry assured.
