Trade turnover with Iran growing to $5 bln — Putin

Cooperation between the two countries is developing in different areas, from the energy sector to education, the Russian leader noted

MOSCOW, December 7. /TASS/. The trade turnover between Moscow and Tehran climbed to almost $5 bln, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during talks with President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi.

"The trade turnover increased by 20% last year and achieved good results. Our [trade turnover] is $5 bln," the Russian leader said.

Cooperation between the two countries is developing in different areas, from the energy sector to education, Putin noted.

"We have large infrastructural projects. We are discussing for a long time and initiated at present practical implementation of North - South railway construction. Certainly, we are traditionally working in the energy sphere," the Russian leader added.
