Iraq greenlights Lukoil’s proposal on Eridu oilfield development

The Eridu oilfield on the Block 10 in Iraq is planned to be developed in cooperation with Inpex South Iraq

MOSCOW, April 6. /TASS/. Lukoil has got an approval from the Iraqi state-owned oil company Thi-Qar Oil Company (TOC) for the statement of commercialization of reserves and the preliminary proposal on Eridu oilfield development, the Russian oil producer said on Monday.

The Eridu oilfield on the Block 10 in Iraq is planned to be developed in cooperation with Inpex South Iraq. "Following approval of furnished documents by TOC, Lukoil and Inpex South Iraq plan to initiate implementation of the Eridu field development program with the design production level of 250,000 barrels per day," the company said.

Exploration on the Block 10 started in 2012. The Eridu oilfield with reserves estimated at 12.9 bln barrels was discovered according to exploration results.
