Russia’s energy consumption rises by 1.3% in 2023

DUSHANBE, March 2. /TASS/. Electricity consumption in Russia has increased by 1.3% in annual terms since the beginning of 2023, Russia’s Minister of Energy Nikolay Shulginov told reporters on Thursday.

"Since the beginning of the year, the growth of electricity consumption in Russia has reached 1.3%," he said.

Earlier, Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that Russia’s electricity generation increased by 0.7%, consumption - by 1.5% in 2022. In turn, Russia’s Deputy Energy Minister Evgeny Grabchak in an interview with TASS said that the growth of energy consumption in Russia in 2023 will likely reach 1.5-1.6%.
