LONDON, February 22. /TASS/. The world has entered an era of global changes in politics and economy, Russian Ambassador to the UK Andrey Kelin said Wednesday.
"We are at the start of difficult ten years, because lots of things are changing right now in the market, in economy," the Russian envoy said in an interview for the LBC radio station.
He added that the world enters "ten years of serious changes in the world order".
Kelin underscored that "the world must be multipolar," adding that many nations do not want to see it dominated by "Anglo-Saxon countries".
"China is seeing clearly this picture and, in this sense, they are supporting us," the diplomat noted.
Kelin also commented on the effect of Western sanctions on the Russian economy.
"The sanctions that have been imposed on Russia are helping us now. Of course, we are going through a turbulent period, when we have to reconstruct our logistics; but, in the past, during the Soviet Union [era], we were producing aircraft, cars, lorries, electronics, trains," the envoy said, adding that Russia is moving to a "new level" of economy. The envoy noted that Wester sanctions have led to an increase in Russia’s trade with China and India.
