WASHINGTON, December 18. /TASS/. U.S. President Barack Obama has signed a bill giving him extra powers to introduce sanctions against Russia and to pump armaments into Ukraine.

A statement in the name of the President released on the occasion says the signing of the bill does not mean a change in the policy of sanctions, which Washington is coordinating closely with its allies and partners.

The statement confirmed the absence of intentions on the part of the White House to introduce new anti-Russian sanctions.
