STOCKHOLM, October 27. /TASS/. Finland and Norway do not seek to mediate a settlement to the conflict in Ukraine but support the idea of a trilateral meeting in Abu Dhabi, Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide said.
"We do not want to be mediators, but we believe we can make a certain contribution to the process," he said at a news conference in Helsinki attended by his Finnish and Ukrainian counterparts, Elina Valtonen and Andrey Sibiga. The Finnish newspaper Iltalehti reported their remarks.
Finland supports the US-led peace process and does not plan to restore relations with Russia, Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen said. She added Finland is not seeking to mediate the conflict and is committed to supporting Ukraine.
