BRUSSELS, October 7. /TASS/. EU ambassadors have agreed to resume the technical stage of EU accession talks for Ukraine and Moldova that had been stalled by Hungary since summer, Rapporteur reported, citing sources.
According to them, a draft common position should be agreed next, which, if adopted, may pave the way for the opening of two accession negotiation clusters. An unidentified EU diplomat said Brussels expects to unanimously agree to open negotiation Clusters 2 and 3 after the Verkhovna Rada, or Ukraine’s parliament, passes the minorities law on October 12.
Earlier, The Financial Times (FT) reported, citing sources, that Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar has instructed diplomats not to block the sending of letters to Ukraine and Moldova regarding the potential opening of the next two negotiation clusters on the internal market and competitiveness.
