MOSCOW, October 1. /TASS/. Relations between Russia and Abkhazia are at an "absolute historic high," with the two countries engaged in full-scale, comprehensive cooperation, Abkhaz Foreign Minister Oleg Bartsits said at a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.
"Indeed, cooperation between our foreign ministries largely determines the high level of relations in multiple areas. If we assess the current situation, we can confidently say that Abkhaz-Russian relations are at an absolute historic high. Today, this is full-scale, comprehensive cooperation that is taking shape and proceeding at an increasingly dynamic pace," Bartsits said.
He noted that the leaders of the two countries have met three times in less than two years, while the foreign ministers are having their third meeting. "This, of course, gives additional impetus to our large-scale, highly effective cooperation. All the areas that Abkhazia and Russia are developing through our bilateral cooperation today are extremely important for the state and our people," Bartsits said.
