There have been no reports of casualties among local residents

BEIRUT, August 7. /TASS/. Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) personnel crossed the border with Syria and entered the Syrian province of Daraa in the south of the Arab republic, Syria TV reported.

According to the TV channel, the incident occurred in the western part of Daraa. It claims that Israeli forces opened fire on two populated areas before returning to their positions. There have been no reports of casualties among local residents.

Previously, Syrian authorities have repeatedly accused Israel of attempting to undermine stability in the southern regions of the Arab republic. At the same time, on July 26, Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa emphasized that he seeks to avoid confrontation with Israel. According to him, Damascus, with the assistance of friendly countries, is "working to reach a security agreement" with the Jewish state.
