Over 30 countries to join 'coalition of willing' to support Ukraine — spokesman

"The contribution capabilities will vary, but this will be a significant force, with a significant number of countries providing troops and a larger group contributing in other ways," the statement reads

LONDON, March 17. /TASS/. Over 30 countries intend to join the so-called coalition of the willing to support Ukraine, a spokesman for UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said.

"We expect more than 30 countries to be involved in the coalition of the willing," the Sky News TV channel quoted him as saying.

"The contribution capabilities will vary, but this will be a significant force, with a significant number of countries providing troops and a larger group contributing in other ways," the spokesman added.

On March 15, Starmer said in an online meeting following the Ukraine summit that military commanders from "coalition of the willing" countries would meet in London on March 20 to discuss operational details of sending troops to Ukraine. The UK prime minister pointed out that a number of countries had made commitments to participate in the so-called peacekeeping mission in Ukraine, without revealing details of the arrangements.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said earlier that the presence of NATO troops under any flag and in any capacity on Ukrainian soil was a threat to Russia. According to him, Moscow will not accept this under any conditions.
