Iran tests upgraded Karrar drone equipped with air-to-air missile — report

Before the upgrade, the drone had a range of 1000 km, speed of 900 km/h, carrying capacity of 500 kg and ceiling of 7.5-12 km

TEHRAN, October 23. /TASS/. Iran carried out trials of the upgraded version of the Karrar combat drone within the program of modernization of air defense weapons. Now, the drone, which proved its effectiveness earlier, is equipped with a Majid short-range air-to-air missile, says Iranian Air Defense Force Deputy Commander Brigade General Mohammad Yousefi Khoshqalb.

"The Karrar has first been commissioned over ten years ago," he told ISNA. "We were able to improve its capabilities, increase its reliability compared to earlier versions. Its speed, range and ceiling have been improved. Now, the Karrar can carry air-to-air missiles."

Before the upgrade, the drone had a range of 1000 km, speed of 900 km/h, carrying capacity of 500 kg and ceiling of 7.5-12 km. The new specifications are not disclosed, except for the increased ceiling of 15 km.
