Journalist Hersh reaffirms credibility of his source in article on Nord Stream explosions

According to the article that was published on Wednesday, explosives under the Russian Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines were planted by US Navy divers under the guise of the Baltops exercise in June

NEW YORK, February 8. /TASS/. US journalist Seymour Hersh on Wednesday reaffirmed the credibility of the source that provided him with the data to corroborate a story on US involvement in the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines.

"It's somebody who seems to know quite a bit about what was going on," Hersh told TASS. "I can't name people obviously."

He said when writing the story he reached out to a CIA spokesman. The journalist said he believes the US administration will probably deny its involvement in the sabotage.

"I'm sure that some of the White House would have liked Mr. Burns do the denial," he said.

According to the article that was published on Wednesday, explosives under the Russian Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines were planted by US Navy divers under the guise of the Baltops exercise in June. The story is citing an unidentified source with direct knowledge of the operational planning as saying that US president Joe Biden personally authorized the operation.

Adrienne Watson, a spokesperson for the National Security Council at the White House, responded to a request for comment from TASS that the story laid out by Hersh was totally false and complete fiction.
