The flags of Russia, the LPR, the Chechen Republic and the Red Banner of Victory were hoisted over the main entrance to the plant

LUGANSK, May 13. /TASS/. The forces of the Lugansk People’s Republic have liberated a major chemical industry facility in Rubezhnoye and combed the industrial area, the Lugansk people’s militia said.

"The LPR people’s militia has liberated the Zarya plant," says a statement uploaded to the militia’s Telegram channel.

According to the published video, the flags of Russia, the LPR, the Chechen Republic and the Red Banner of Victory were hoisted over the main entrance to the plant. The advancing forces sustained no losses during the operation to put the plant under control, the people’s militia said.

The LPR’s Defense Ministry spokesman Ivan Filiponenko said the industrial zone had been combed. Ukrainian soldiers tried to break out into one of the city’s areas, but the attempt was quashed.

The Zarya chemical plant is 100 years old. It manufactures explosives, including ammonite, trinitrotoluene, products of organic synthesis - sulfuric and dinitrobenzoic acids - polymers and other chemical products.

On April 20, Chechnya’s leader Ramzan Kadyrov said that the city of Rubezhnoye had been put under control by the Russian army. Taking part in the liberation of Rubezhnoye were Russian military units, the Donetsk people’s militia and commandos from Chechnya’s combat training center Akhmat.
