Moscow court fines Telegram $44,336 over banned content

As previously reported, Telegram’s outstanding debt from unpaid fines for violating Russian laws has exceeded $466,690

MOSCOW, October 7. /TASS/. Moscow’s Tagansky District Court has once again fined messaging app Telegram 3.8 million rubles ($44,336) for failing to remove inaccurate information regarding the special military operation, which is banned from dissemination in Russia, a participant in the proceedings told TASS.

"The court found Telegram guilty of an administrative offense consisting of the failure by a website or online resource owner to delete information or a webpage, and imposed a fine of 3.8 million rubles ($44,336)," the source said.

As previously reported, Telegram’s outstanding debt from unpaid fines for violating Russian laws has exceeded 40 million rubles ($466,690).
