POKROV /Vladimir Region/, March 22. /TASS/. Moscow’s Lefortovo Court has found Alexey Navalny guilty of fresh fraud charges on Tuesday, a TASS correspondent reported.

"Navalny committed fraud, that is embezzlement of other people’s property through deception," Judge Margarita Kotova stated, reading the verdict.

The pronouncement of Navalny’s verdict began in a makeshift court at a prison colony in the city of Pokrov in the Vladimir Region on Tuesday. In the introductory part, the judge handed down a guilty verdict on fraud charges against the blogger.

Navalny is also charged with contempt of court during a hearing for defaming World War II veteran Ignat Artemenko. At this stage of the verdict's pronouncement, the court has not yet solved the question of Navalny’s guilt regarding this episode. Navalny’s penalty will be set in the concluding part of the sentence after the court summarizes the evidence on the case.
