BRICS anticipates active involvement of new members in space initiatives

"Progress has already been made in this area, and I expect it will accelerate further during Brazil’s presidency next year," Sergey Ryabkov noted

MOSCOW, December 17. /TASS/. BRICS expects its new members to proactively engage in space exploration and research projects, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and BRICS Sherpa Sergey Ryabkov told the TASS Analytical Center in an interview.

"When it comes to practical initiatives, everything currently revolves around the foundation established several years ago. This includes a constellation of Earth remote sensing satellites, where the BRICS countries at that time contributed in various forms," Ryabkov said.

"And it’s effective: these products are in demand and actively used. The focus now is on integrating new members into this framework and agreement. Progress has already been made in this area, and I expect it will accelerate further during Brazil’s presidency next year," he added.
