MOSCOW, April 4. /TASS/. More than a half of payments between Russia and China are being made in national currencies, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with aif.ru posted on the Foreign Ministry’s website on Tuesday.
"It is important that we make more than a half of bilateral settlements in national currencies. Cooperation is not confined to trade but covers a fairly broad range, from energy and industry to agriculture and space. We have formed relations of positive mutual dependence with China in the sphere of trade and economy and such result of our work is bound to be satisfactory," Lavrov said.
China is the main trade partner of Russia for thirteen years in succession, the Russian top diplomat said. The trade turnover between the two countries increased by a third annually over the last two years and hit the new record high level of $185 bln in 2022. "We are supplying to each other products enjoying demand on markets of our countries on a mutually beneficial basis," the minister added.
