MOSCOW, October 29. /TASS/. Moscow is doing a great deal to help African countries maintain internal stability and security, as well as strengthen their defense capabilities, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted during the third Russia-Africa Summit.
"As a permanent member of the UN Security Council, our country contributes significantly to resolving current conflicts and preventing new ones on the African continent. In doing so, we consistently adhere to the fundamental principle that you yourselves have proclaimed: ‘African problems require African solutions.’ Russia is doing a great deal to help African states maintain internal stability and security and strengthen their defense capabilities," the head of state noted.
Putin pointed out that Russia has intergovernmental agreements on military and military-technical cooperation with 45 African countries. "African servicemen and law enforcement officers are being trained at Russian educational institutions," he recalled.
