UNITED NATIONS, September 23. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held talks with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty.

Ahead of the bilateral meeting, held on the sidelines of the high-level week of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, Lavrov, Abdelatty and Ivorian Foreign Minister Niale Kaba took part in a ceremony to unveil a memorial plaque honoring deceased permanent representatives, including Russia's and the Soviet Union's Vitaly Churkin and Andrey Vyshinsky.

The memorial plaque is located in the so-called "quiet room" next to the UN Security Council chamber. Its original interior and furniture were donated to the United Nations by the German government in 1978. Security Council members use the room for confidential discussions and informal exchanges of views.
