MOSCOW, January 1. /TASS/. The Council for the Support of the Russian Language and Languages of the Peoples of Russia together with the government should ensure the development of the draft Basics of the State Language Policy by June 1, as follows from President Vladimir Putin’s instructions uploaded to the Kremlin website.

Presidential Advisor on Culture Yelena Yampolskaya and Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin have been appointed responsible for taking action on the order.

Also, Putin instructed to develop and submit to the State Duma a federal law "On the languages of the Peoples of the Russian Federation" until May 1, providing for, among other things, the creation of a state register of languages of the peoples of Russia; systematization (delimitation) of the status of such languages; the relationship between the legislation on the languages of the peoples of Russia and the legislation on the state language of Russia.

Mishustin, Yampolskaya, and Andrey Yarin, the head of the Domestic Policy Directorate of the Presidential Staff are in charge.
