Russia ready to develop military-technical cooperation with Laos

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the parties discussed in detail the vital aspects of bilateral defense relationship

JAKARTA, November 15. /TASS-DEFENSE/. The Russian Defense Ministry is ready to develop military and military-technical cooperation with Laos, Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin said.

"We are ready to continue close interaction, including in the format which we maintain for the sixth year. I mean humanitarian mine clearance," he said at a meeting with Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Chansamone Chanyalath held on the sidelines of the 10th ASEAN Defense Ministers' Meeting-Plus (ADM plus).

In a traditionally trustworthy atmosphere, the parties discussed in detail the vital aspects of bilateral defense relationship and focused on further strengthening of the whole complex of military and military-technical ties, the Russian Defense Ministry said adding specific attention was paid to joint projects in humanitarian mine clearance.

Fomin congratulated Chanyalath with ASEAN presidency, which Laos takes next year. "We promise and guarantee all-round and required support," he said.
