Russia to respond to Latvia’s, Lithuania’s decision to lower level of diplomatic relations

On April 4, Lithuania requested the Russian ambassador leave the country

MOSCOW, April 4. /TASS/. Russia’s response to Latvia’s and Lithuania’s decisions to lower the level of diplomatic relations with Moscow will not be long in coming, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told TASS on Monday.

"Response measures will follow soon," she said.

Earlier on Monday, Lithuania announced its decision to lower the level of diplomatic relations with Russia and requested the Russian ambassador leave the country. It also said it will recall its ambassador from Moscow. Later on, similar steps were announced by Latvia. Both countries explain their moves by Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine.
