NEW YORK, October 15. /TASS/. US entrepreneur and SpaceX founder Elon Musk expressed concern about Kiev’s position on Moscow’s recent diesel deal with Washington.
The entrepreneur was commenting on a post on X from Mike Cernovich, a US blogger and political commentator, who highlighted Ukraine’s ungratefulness after American "taxpayers gave over $250,000,000,000 to [Vladimir] Zelenky." "All [US President Donald] Trump wanted was for diesel prices to go down a dollar or two before the midterms, and he got shanked. Ingrates," Cernovich posted to which Musk replied, saying that was "troubling."
Commenting on the diesel deal between Trump and Russia in an interview with British television host Piers Morgan, Zelensky lamented that Ukraine is losing a major partner in the United States.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Trump held a phone call on October 9, during which they discussed, among other things, petroleum product supplies. The Russian president said that Moscow had reaffirmed its readiness to supply oil and petroleum products to the US and global market. According to Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, Russia will lift its ban on diesel exports ahead of schedule and is ready to supply 300,000 tons of diesel in October, increasing the volume to 500,000 tons in November and 1 million tons in December. Monthly supplies could subsequently reach 3 million tons. The Trump administration, in turn, issued a general license authorizing Russian diesel supplies to the global market until April 7, 2027.
