MOSCOW, April 1. /TASS/. Russia keeps leading positions in global energy markets despite sanctions, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.

"Despite sanctions, Russia maintains leading positions in global markets of energy resources. We are proactively expanding logistical routes, primarily in the direction of friendly countries, and financing appropriate infrastructure," the prime minister said.

Domestic energy needs of Russia are reliably supported, Mishustin noted. "We reliably support our own needs," the prime minister added when speaking at the strategic session for oil and coal industries development by 2050.

A new National Project of Nuclear Power Technologies was launched to strengthen the technological sovereignty, Mishustin stressed.
