Gazprom continues regular gas supplies for transit to Europe through Ukraine

MOSCOW, April 20. /TASS/. Gazprom continues to routinely supply Russian gas for transit to Europe through the territory of Ukraine, the company’s official representative Sergey Kupriyanov told reporters on Wednesday.

"Gazprom supplies Russian gas for transit through the territory of Ukraine in the regular mode in accordance with the requests of European consumers - 56 mln cubic meters as of April 20," he said.

In general, Europe has recently significantly increased gas purchases from Russia against the backdrop of rising spot prices due to cold weather, lack of wind, and the aggravation of the situation in Ukraine.

Energy Minister German Galushchenko said earlier that Ukraine’s production of natural gas has fallen by 15% over the past month.
