Combat experience confirms proper choice of developing Russian Missile Troops — commander

According to Colonel General Andrey Mordvichev, this military branch is at the final stage of switching over to the system that consists of a set of reconnaissance, firing, command and control and support subsystems

MOSCOW, October 1. /TASS/. The experience of the special military operation in Ukraine has proven the correct choice of developing Russian Missile Troops and Artillery as they are now at the final stage of switching over to a qualitatively new reconnaissance/fire system, Russia’s Ground Forces Commander-in-Chief Colonel General Andrey Mordvichev told the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper.

The commander-in-chief was interviewed by the Russian Defense Ministry’s Krasnaya Zvezda media outlet on the occasion of Ground Forces Day marked in Russia on October 1.

"The experience of the special military operation undoubtedly confirms the correctness of the development priorities for Missile Troops and Artillery defined earlier. Currently, this military branch is at the final stage of switching over to a qualitatively new state - the reconnaissance/fire system that consists of a set of reconnaissance, firing, command and control and support subsystems," the commander-in-chief said.

Formations of Russian Missile Troops and Artillery are already conducting reconnaissance/strike missions in the special military operation area to boost combat efficiency. Measures to introduce effective fire control systems combined with artificial intelligence and highly automated combat and operational processes will help increase firepower, he said.

With regard to motor rifle troops, the development focus is on optimizing the structure of their formations, enhancing the combat capabilities of units, improving personnel training and developing training facilities, Mordvichev said.
