TOKYO, February 27. /TASS/. Ukraine’s conflict should be resolved only by diplomatic means, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski said in a joint statement on Friday.

"It is necessary to respect Ukraine’s territorial integrity and to achieve a peaceful settlement of Ukraine’s crisis by diplomatic negotiations," said the statement.

As a result of their talks, the Japanese and Polish leaders agreed to strengthen defense cooperation, including regular consultations at the level of defense ministries.

Abe and Komorowski also stated the importance of global anti-terrorist cooperation against the background of ISIS mounting aggression.
