CAIRO, November 21. /TASS/. The Palestinian National Authority’s President Mahmoud Abbas called on the Middle East Quartet of international mediators (the UN, Russia, the US, and the EU) for active participation in settlement of the Middle East’s conflict to prevent “Israel’s attacks” on Palestinians.
The international mediators should consider the situation immediately, he said.
Abbas said the Quartet should support Palestine’s aspirations to join several international organizations and international agreements.
“Palestine undertakes all possible steps to resume peace, but Israel’s policies will result in escalation of violence, chaos, extremism and bloodshed,” Arab media report the Palestinian leader as saying.
