Dozens die in Ukrainian military operation - DNR official

MOSCOW, May 29 /ITAR-TASS/. Prime Minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic /DNR/ Alexander Borodai said dozens of people had been killed in the military operation of the Ukrainian authorities in the Donetsk area.

He told Russia's First Channel that the DNR situation was near "a humanitarian catastrophe," with people living in the conditions of financial blockade.

People's militia fully control the situation in the city, Borodai said, adding that attempts were being made to retrieve the victims' bodies from the area of the city airport despite sniper fire from Ukrainian troops.
