Armed persons attacked weapons depots in Donetsk region's Artemivsk

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry says that the assailants were using automatic weapons, grenade launchers and fragmentation grenades

KIEV, April 24. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine’s armed forces have repelled an attack of unknown armed people on weapons depots in Donetsk region’s Artemivsk, the press service of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said.

Local media reported that at 2.00 am (April 24) “shots, explosions and then automatic gunfire” was heard in the western part of Artemivsk.

“Overnight from April 23 to April 24, around 100 unidentified persons attacked an army base in Artemivsk. The assailants were using automatic weapons, grenade launchers and fragmentation grenades,” the defense ministry reported.

One officer was wounded, but his life is not at risk. “The facilities are currently under the control of the Ukrainian army,” the ministry said.
