TOKYO, March 05. /ITAR-TASS/. Iran hopes that Russia will assist to reaching the final agreement on the nuclear program with P5+1 (five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany), Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif told Itar-Tass.
“Relations with Russia are solid. They are based on mutual interests. Russia has played a positive role in the P5+1 that is why we hope for Moscow’s help to reach the final agreement on the nuclear program,” Zarif said.
Tehran’s nuclear researches are of peaceful nature. “We believe that the Middle East and the whole world should be free of nuclear weapons. They don’t ensure security of any country,” the Iranian minister said.
He said Iran “is satisfied with nuclear cooperation with Russia”.
However, Zarif said relations could not be considered exclusive. “Russia takes part in developing our nuclear power engineering. Other countries, for example Japan, can participate in it. We’re opened for any proposals,” Zarif said.
The Iranian minister is making a working trip to Japan for talks with his counterpart Fumio Kishida.
