US vice president ignores Zelensky’s invitation to visit Ukraine

According to Vladimir Zelensky’s interview, he suggested that JD Vance reconsider his decision not to visit Ukraine until the armed conflict was over but the US vice president did not respond

MOSCOW, March 24. /TASS/. Vladimir Zelensky recently reiterated his invitation for US Vice President JD Vance to visit Ukraine but received no response.

According to Zelensky’s interview with Time magazine, in a recent phone call, he suggested that Vance reconsider his decision not to visit Ukraine until the armed conflict was over. "We’re still waiting for you," Zelensky said. "The vice president did not respond," Time notes.

During a meeting with US President Donald Trump and Vance at the White House a while ago, Zelensky invited the US vice president to make a trip to Ukraine to see what was going on in the country with his own eyes. Vance said that he had "watched and seen the stories" about developments in Ukraine.

On February 28, Zelensky arrived at the White House for a meeting with Trump. Their conversation, with reporters present, unraveled into a shouting match, with Trump scolding Zelensky for being disrespectful to the US, and Vance noting that Zelensky had not ever said a "thank you" for the support provided to Kiev. A news conference scheduled to follow the meeting was canceled. Later, Trump posted a statement on the Truth Social platform saying that Zelensky was disrespectful and not ready for peace.
