PARIS, January 17. /TASS/. Leader of France’s Republicans Party Eric Ciotti said on Tuesday that he doesn’t think that Paris should supply heavy weapons to Kiev.

"I am not a supporter of the idea of sending heavy weapons [to Ukraine] at this point," he said in an interview with the BFM television channel.

The French Ministry of the Armed Forces said after Minister Sebastien Lecornu’s telephone call with Ukrainian Defense Minister Alexey Reznikov that Paris planned to supply Kiev with AMX-10 RC wheeled tanks within two months.

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on January 12 that Moscow considers Paris’ plans to supply heavy armored vehicles to Kiev a reckless and irresponsible step, which would only escalate things further.
